My name is Kibriya and I have been a blogger for the past 3 years, I have been an Android user and WhatsApp user for the past 8 years. So that is why I have been using WhatsApp For a very long time. That is why today I am going to review WhatsApp and tell you all the hidden features you didn’t know even existed.

What is WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a communication tool that allows you to send messages to others it also allows you to call others and it also allows you to have video chats with others. So you could see the other person in real-time and with all three of those you could either communicate with one other person or with groups of people so you have lots of options.

WhatsApp originally came from What’s Up as a way to kick off communication Now, why use WhatsApp there are many other communication tools, out there WhatsApp is one of the most dominant and one of the most used communication tools.

Why is WhatsApp so popular?

The reason why WhatsApp is popular is because WhatsApp really came to be during the time when most people use simply their cell phone text messaging or their cell phone calling to stay in touch with others. Now at the time one of the problems was if you wanted to text message people a lot of cell phone companies charged a lot of money for that and at one point in time.

It was five or ten cents per text message also if you wanted to call people in other countries and this is still a problem today sell carriers charge a lot of money to do that with WhatsApp what they do is they run through the data on your phone.

So they don’t charge you by phone call they don’t charge you by text message in fact there’s no charge at all it simply leverages your data and so they got the cost so low so dramatically low to stay in touch with others people flocked to whatsapp. Now the second thing that really drove WhatsApp’s success is when you sign up for WhatsApp, you enter your phone number and by entering your phone number what they do is that’s your unique identifier on WhatsApp.

And so when you join WhatsApp and you launch the app what they’ll do is they’ll look at all the contacts on your phone and all their phone numbers and then it’ll take those phone numbers look at all the WhatsApp members and see if there are any matches. When you start using WhatsApp what happens then is you have this immediate network of people you can call now those two things really helped propel WhatsApp to become one of the dominant messaging players.

Features Of  WhatsApp

Status

whatsapp status

If you want to attach a picture with the status then you can take the picture or you can click on the pencil and you can type anything you want. Whatever status you put up, WhatsApp will keep your status for 24 hours and then it will reset. So whatever you want to use you can convey to others through status.

Calling

If you want to call someone on an iPhone In the top right corner you’ll see a phone icon with a plus on your phone screen. If you click on that that’ll allow you to set up or basically create a new call and what that’ll do is it’ll open up all your contacts and within the call view what you’ll see is you have a phone icon, and also a video icon, clicking on a phone icon will kick off a phone call clicking on the video icon will kick off a video call so depending on whether you want someone to see your face or not you could choose which one you want to click on.

They also have something called a new group call and the interesting is you could immediately kick off a call with up to seven participants so it’s kind of like a conference call that you could kick off. So a nice way to talk with family easily.

Chatting Tips

WhatsApp’s got some huge new updates you can now edit and lock your chats create AI stickers send video notes and so much more the newest tips and tricks for WhatsApp that you just got to know. If you’ve got a message with a few types now what you can do is if you just tap and hold on to the message and then tap on the three little dots you will finally see the edit option so now you can finally edit your messages and fix any nasty types or just completely change the sentence Al together but just keep in mind you can only edit your message up to 15 minutes after you’ve sent it.

Then another brand new feature not many people seem to know about is if you go into a chat’s info section and scroll down you’ll see the brand new Chat lock option which you can toggle on and use your fingerprint to lock that chat. Now when you go back to your chat tab you’ll see that specific chat has vanished but if you swipe down you’ll see the new Chat lock folder and if you unlock that you will find your chat hidden in there then another new feature I really like is actually quite Hidden, so within settings under the chat section you can now toggle on an instant video message.

So if you go into a chat and tap the mic icon it changes to the little video icon and now what you can do is tap and hold then swipe up and record a super quick cool video note instead of a voice note once you finish recording and send it off than voice notes you can have so much fun with it and they do have audio as well. If you select the attachment icon you’ll find the new option to create a poll which is actually super handy for group chats and helping you guys make decisions with your friends and family and you can even see who voted for you.

Ai Sticker

AI has gotten pretty nuts lately and now it’s included within the sticker section you’ll see the new create button and if you tap on it’ll take you where you can write down a quick description of what you’d like the AI to create like a shocked chicken with big eyes. The AI will then take a few seconds and you just got yourself a completely original sticker that’s probably never been seen before which is nuts. WhatsApp is also releasing a bunch of other AI features like AI chat kind of like chat GPT and even AI art where you can make it inside the WhatsApp chats.

Super Safe Texting

We have to make sure WhatsApp is super safe and the first thing you should do to make sure it’s safe is go into your WhatsApp settings and then into privacy right at the bottom you’ll find the fingerprint lock option, make sure to turn the on because now your entire WhatsApp app will get locked so that no one can get into it without your fingerprint.

And the also works with iPhone using that super Snappy face ID back inside the privacy settings you should also definitely check out the brand new option to start checkups basically this is it’s like the ultimate privacy dashboard where you can find everything to do with privacy like the neat option to actually silence any unknown calling.

Also if you ever need to send a private photo or video to someone like a personal document make sure to tap on the view once mode, basically this will make sure that whoever opens up your video or media can only view it once and not even make a copy of it by trying to take a screenshot but what WhatsApp can do is make a copy of you.

Whatsapp Avatars

The Avatar option allows you to create a little digital human version of yourself. You can either create one from scratch or actually take a photo of yourself where WhatsApp will create one for you but the results weren’t exactly great. But you can go and further edit it yourself and choose from different hairstyles, hair colors, face shapes, makeup, eyebrows, eye colors, even your body shape, and clothing plus a bunch of other things.

You can literally recreate yourself into the little digital WhatsApp version and there’s actually quite a bit you can do with the Avatar, but by far the coolest thing about these is there’s this brand new sticker section made specifically just for your avatar.

There are so many different ones and of course, they look just like you but some of them are even animated and honestly just make your chats so much more fun and exciting. So I definitely suggest you check this out and make one of yourself but what you can also use your avatar for is to set it up as a profile picture just in case you don’t feel like using a real photo of yourself.

Nifty Tips

You have an awesome photo that you’d like to send to a friend well what’s new to Whatsapp sharing is now you will find the HD icon and once you select it you’ll actually be able to choose what quality you’d like the photo to be sent in. This also works with videos and it’s just such a super Nifty addition to WhatsApp especially compared to how photos and videos used to get compressed like crazy.

And another new Nifty addition to WhatsApp is if you want to leave a group chat but you’re too scared for everyone to see that you’ve left well, you shouldn’t worry anymore because now only group admins can see that You’ve left and no one else will even know.

Another Nifty tip is if you’re someone who likes sharing or forwarding funny photos and videos now when you forward a photo like a meme over you’ll actually be able to forward it with the original message attached, and speaking of messages if you have a bunch of unread messages scattered throughout your WhatsApp what you can do is just select.

The search icon and write over tap on unread and just like that WhatsApp will quickly sort through all your messages and show you which ones you haven’t gone through yet and once you’ve read it it will then remove it.

Channels

Now the first thing you guys might notice is the status tab is now called updates and besides finding the usual status updates from your contacts you’ll now also see the new channel section which is cool. And if you on find channels all the different WhatsApp channels available you can even sort through them by most active or popular.

These are kind of like WhatsApp chats where you can follow your favorite people like CBS different companies’ news and all that and once you follow a few of them then anything that the channel posts in the future will show up for you to check out kind of like a status update inside each Channel chat you can also do things like mute or unmute them share or even unfollow them.

If you really want to you can actually tap on the plus icon and start your own channel choose your channel name grab a quick profile pick and a brief description and that’s pretty much it but just keep in mind that channels are public and literally anyone can join it and if you don’t see any channels yet then don’t worry you should be able to see them super soon.
