Intro

Over the years I’ve tested dozens of habit tracker apps on both iPhone and Android so that you don’t have to. Some of them were okay they kind of did what they said they would do but there was a couple that significantly outperformed the rest in terms of the user interface ease of use and extra features. So out of all of the Habit tracker apps that I’ve used these are my 7 favorite habit tracker apps.

So if you’re new over here Hey guys my name is Kibriya, I’m a writer and a blogger, and also I love to write blogs to share my information with the world. And I have been a blogger for sense 3 years. Also, I’ve been an Android and Apple iOS user for the past  8 years. So without wasting any more time let’s drive into it.

I Tested 7 Habit Tracker Apps for 2024 So You Don’t Have To!

Awesome Habits: Habit Tracker

Awesome Habits Habit Tracker app

This app stands out as my favorite in terms of design and user interface. The interface design holds significant importance for me, and Awesome Habits excels in simplicity and effectiveness. It focuses on one thing and does it very well – tracking your daily habits in an aesthetic interface. The app provides graphs for a quick overview of your progress on one screen and includes a widget.

However, the widget falls slightly short in design compared to the app itself. Despite this, I believe every habit app should have a widget for easy access on the home screen, reducing the chances of forgetting about your daily habits. Despite the widget design, Awesome Habits is definitely in my top three habit-tracking apps, among the dozens I’ve tested over the years.

Habit Tracker:

Habit Tracker app

So, Habit Tracker is one of the better apps out there. It’s super simple and does exactly what it says on the tin. I particularly like how customizable you can make each of your daily habits. You can customize what time in the day your notification reminder should pop up on your phone to remind you to complete that habit.

Another feature that I think every habit tracker should have is the ability to add a reminder message, which you can do with most other apps. You can also set a start date and end date. There is a free version of this app and a paid version, but the vast majority of us will probably be fine with the free version.

Every day:

Every day app

Every day, this is my top three apps on this list. One thing that stands out is the design; it’s unlike any other habit tracker apps. However, it still easily keeps you accountable and tracks your habits with its simple checkered board. The more you do, the better the board looks. The user interface is very simple and easy to understand. As soon as you start using it, you fill in each box once you’ve completed that daily habit.

There’s a widget that shows you the last seven days, so you can immediately see if you’ve missed any days that week. That’s a good motivator to complete your habits because, for me at least, I hate being reminded that I missed the habit every time I look at the widget.

Every day has the same features as most other habit trackers, like setting reminders so you don’t forget or are less likely to forget to complete that habit before the end of the day. But it’s the simplicity of the app and the widget that really makes Every Day stand out. It’s definitely worth trying out.

Productive – Habit tracker

Productiv app

The Productive Habit Tracker app is one of my favorite designed apps. The user interface is really well-designed. You can click on each habit for more information, see graphs, and track how many streaks you’ve completed with that habit. To mark the habit as done, you just swipe right, and to undo a habit, you swipe left. What sets Productive apart, other than the very aesthetic user interface, are the challenges.

Adding a community element to habit tracking, either with friends or a group of strangers, is a powerful way to stay motivated. Productiv offers creative challenges like the Cut the Clutter challenge, where you join others to complete small tasks daily, such as organizing your workspace. There’s even a comment section within the app, creating a sense of community. The widget is also well-designed, making it one of my favorite apps on the list.

Avocation Goal & Habit Tracker

Avocation app

Avocation takes a different perspective from other habit tracker apps, focusing more on mental health consciousness. Instead of using streaks to put pressure on you, you grow a plant by implementing your habit. Every time you complete a habit, your plant grows. If you have a bad day, your plant doesn’t grow—no punishment. The gamification element of growing a plant adds a nice touch. The user interface is clean, but unfortunately, there isn’t a widget. Overall, it’s a decent app.

Habitify: Habit Tracker

Habitify Habit Tracker app

Habitify is arguably one of the most popular and well-known apps on this list. It excels in habit tracking, but what sets it apart is the offering of different types of live challenges. You can join challenges with dozens of other people, fostering a sense of community. Whether it’s a 30-minute Focus Fest or other challenges, you feel like you’re not alone. Habitify also allows you to host your own challenges and invite friends to join, providing accountability.

Habitica: Gamify Your Tasks

Habitica Gamify Your Tasks app

Habitica is a gamified habit tracker that stands out for its unique approach. It turns habit tracking into a game where you create an avatar, and earn in-game rewards, armor, and pets by completing real-life tasks. It genuinely feels like playing a game with health, experience points, and leveling up.

What makes Habitica stand out is its independent nature, created by a team of passionate volunteers and contributors. It’s not just a product but a tool made by people who want to stay accountable and improve their lives. If you’re looking for a habit tracker that feels more like a game, Habitica is worth trying.
